Expelled Akali Dal veterans launch SAD (Taksali), Brahmpura to be chief

The three Akali veterans - Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Rattan Singh Ajnala - were expelled from the Akali Dal for revolting against the leadership of Sukhbir Singh Badal over the Badals’ alleged role in securing pardon to the Dera Sacha Sauda chief in a blasphemy case and the 2015 sacrilege incidents and police firing.

Expelled Akali leaders to float new political outfit on December 14

Veteran Shiromani Akali Dal leaders Ranjit Singh Brahmpura, Rattan Singh Ajnala and Sewa Singh Sekhwan , along with Brahmpura’s son Ravinder Singh Brahmpura and Ajnala’s son Amarpal Singh ‘Bonny’ Ajnala, were expelled from the primary membership of SAD for six years for indulging in anti-party activities on November 11.
