The legislative resolution passed in the Tamil Nadu assembly against Karnataka over the Cauvery dispute was unilateral, said BJP state president K Annamalai.
The Tamil Nadu assembly has passed a resolution urging the central government to direct Karnataka to release Cauvery water as per the Supreme Court's directions. The resolution was supported by all parties except the BJP. The resolution comes amid protests and bandhs over the Cauvery water dispute. The AIADMK blamed successive Karnataka governments for not honoring the Supreme Court verdict. The BJP questioned why there was an issue only after the Congress formed the government. The chief minister said Karnataka should have released 123.06 tmcft of water between June and September but only released 46.1 tmcft.
