Supreme Court asks Yogi govt to refund crores recovered from anti-CAA protestors

Covid-19: UP govt announces closure of all educational institutions till Jan 23

The U government on Sunday announced that all educational institutions like schools, degree colleges, universities and technical institutions will remain closed in Uttar Pradesh for physical classes till January 23 due to the prevailing Covid-19 situation in the state.

UP govt bans any hike in school fees for upcoming academic session

The Uttar Pradesh government has banned any increase in school fees across all the boards for the upcoming academic session (2021-2022) owing to the coronavirus pandemic situation, Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said on Thursday.

UP Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, who also holds the portfolio of Secondary Education department, in a statement said many families are affected economically due to the COVID-19 second wave and schools are physically closed while online classes are going on.(HT file)

UP govt makes recognition process for class 1 to 8 schools online

The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has made the accreditation process for schools offering education to students from classes 1 to 8 in the state online.

In order to ensure that the entire process, including submission of applications, scheduling of on-ground inspections and disposal of each application for granting recognition to private schools, is done in a transparent manner, the process has been made live on state government’s Prerna website.(JS Grewal/HT file)

UP govt to open free coaching centres for competitive exams from Feb 16

The free coaching facility will provide great support to the poor and deprived students whose guidance will be taken care of by the state government, an official spokesman said.

Now, UP govt plans to set up GST Appellate Tribunal in Prayagraj

The UP government on Friday filed an affidavit before the Allahabad high court stating that a revised proposal had been sent to the central government for setting up Goods and Service Tax (GST) Appellate Tribunal in Prayagraj and its regional benches in 19 other districts of the state.

The counsel for the petitioner contended that despite a clear-cut provision for setting up of appellate tribunal, no GST Tribunal had been set up in the state so far. As a result, the GST assessees in the state were facing problems, the counsel stated.(HT Picture for representation)
