If you're booking travel for the summer, hotels.com offers the best consumer experience, a new study has suggested.
The travel booking site topped a study conducted by Keynote looking at experience for users across various hotel reservation websites.
It topped the experience factors of nine competing websites, which were Expedia, Hilton, Hotels.com, Hyatt, Marriott, Orbitz, Priceline, Sheraton and Travelocity.
Interestingly, hotel-owned sites tended to score better when it came to ease of booking, Keynote found, but hotels.com topped the list by offering ease of booking along with the price satisfaction and hotel availability which characterized its competitors such as Priceline and Orbitz.
When it came to speed, Hilton.com offered the best experience, the survey said, while reliability was best at Priceline.com.
Hotels.com topped a similar study conducted by Keynote last year, although Orbitz.com was judged 'most fun', Marriott.com was the most reliable and Sheraton.com was the fastest to use.
