Sitting by the foothills of the Alps in Bavaria and sipping on freshly-brewed frothy German beer is perhaps on the wish list of every beer lover. Spread over 12,500sqft in the towering DLF South Point Mall, Gurgaon, Bavarian microbrewery kitchen, 7° Brauhaus gives you, if not the same, but a similar experience.
Brauhaus in German means beer house, and the highlight of this place is its hand-crafted beers — a welcome break for those who are tired of bottled beer and are in search of new flavours. Apart from the regular lager, their signature brews — 7° Special and 7° Master’s Brew — created by in house master brewer Andreas Lindauer from Germany, is worth a try. What steals the show however is their wheat beer — mild yet tasteful, it’s a treat for the soul, priced at Rs. 315. If you are in a mood to experiment, the cocktails of freshly-brewed beer dropped on tequila, lemonade and mint chunks could be great too. The price range on the beer menu is between Rs. 315-425.
Meal options to pair your beer up with are also pretty elaborate — right from German salads, steaks and pretzels to tandoori items such as sarson methi macchi tikka and tawa paneer tikka. Most of the kitchen ingredients are imported from Germany and Australia, of which the sausages, priced at Rs. 499 are a must-try. Meal for two, without drinks, is a reasonable Rs. 1,500. The Bavarian decor with vast transparent glass walls, vintage flooring, hanging copper lamp shades, plush green chestnut trees that almost look real, and of course the mammoth beer tanks add to the mood. The only low point being a fairly large distance of 25km from Delhi, 7° Brauhaus can prove to be quite a worthwhile experience overall.
