Sony Entertainment television has struck gold with the broadcast of 3 Idiots. The channel gained approximately 100 Gross Rating Points(GRPs) in one week, out of which 92 points came from 3 Idiots itself, exchangeformedia.com reported. In the recent past, these are the highest numbers that a film has received.

The cumulative reach of the film was an astounding 30.5 per cent. To put things in perspective, it means that every third Indian on July 25 was watching the movie.

The channel celebrated an All Izz Well week, where in the theme of the movie was weaved in a number of existing shows. Though, the most lucrative contributing factor was Aamir Khan's appearance on Indian Idol with co-star Sharman Joshi and director Rajkumar Hirani to promote the TV premiere of the movie.

With this development, Sony Entertainment Channel is just about 20 GRPs away from Colors, which is at No 2.
