Industry experts reveal the most popular reality television show hosts, and what makes them click with the audiences:
Popular TV show: Roadies
(season 2 to 8)
Rannvijay Singh, a Ludhiana lad, won the first season of Mtv’s reality show Roadies in 2003 and went on to become a popular host on the small screen of the show. He says, “To host a show like Roadies is a demanding. I find it challenging and satisfying. I would love to host a comedy show.”
Expert Talk: “He does stunts too, so when he hosts Roadies, he looks genuine,” says trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Popular TV shows: Comedy Circus - Laughter Ke Phatke, Comedy Circus 3, Zara Nach Ke Dikha 2, Perfect Bride, and Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala
Jennifer Winget says, “Acting and hosting a show are two entirely different things. The best part is that while hosting, I can be myself.”
Expert Talk: “A good anchor needs to be comfortable with himself/herself, charming and have a sense of humour and these are the qualities that Jennifer has," says ad guru Prahlad Kakkar.

Mona Singh, who made her TV debut by playing Jassi in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi in 2003. says, “I really enjoy hosting. I was nervous when I hosted my first show, but now I am very comfortable.”
Expert Talk: “She is a very happy go lucky and vivacious person. That comes across when she hosts a show,” says Pooja Bedi.

Saumya Tandon says, “With the industry changing at such a fast pace, the greatest challenge for me as a host is to find the right kind of show.”
Expert Talk: “The key to be a great host is that one should not pretend to be someone else and be herself/himself and this is where Saumya scores,” says Adarsh.

Hussain Kuwajerwala says, “Every show has a genre of its own and hosting changes according to that. A host is required to be impromptu and up on the feet all the time.”
Expert Talk: “Hussain is quite good at hosting. He knows his work well and connects well with the audiences” says actor-anchor Pooja Bedi.
