Model Dimpy plays icchadhari naagin in a fantasy-adventure show. The winner of the second season of the Swayamvar show, Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jayega, Dimpy Ganguly Mahajan is gearing up to make her telly-soap debut this week. She will be playing the role of an ‘icchadhari naagin’ (female serpent who can change form on will) in the sequel to Doordarshan’s popular fantasy show, Chandrakanta.

The actor will be seen on the Sahara One show, Kahani Chandrakanta Ki, as Naagin Jwaala, who plots revenge on dacoit Mangal Singh for killing her lover — serpent Jeewan — to steal the Nag Mani (precious stone found in the hood of a cobra). Says Dimpy, "I love my character. Since I’ve never done a show in this genre before and I know the producer-director (Sunil Agnihotri), it became a win-win situation for me."

The 23-year-old who is married to politician-reality show contestant Rahul Mahajan insists her character will not be making an exit in the next six months at least. “If the character is powerful, it can impress the audience in a few days,” she says, adding that Rahul is excited about her show.

Last year, the Mahajans produced a show called Job Time TV, which helped young aspiring professionals find openings in different companies across sectors. Dimpy, who is also assisting her husband on the second season, says, “Most companies have their appraisals in the next two months. So, it’s not the best time to bring it back. We’d be happier launching it towards June-July.”
