Game of Thrones: Someone is lurking behind Sansa Stark in new pic, fans have shocking ideas on who it could be
Fans have spotted that someone is lurking behind Sansa Stark in new pics from episode 3 of current season of Game of Thrones. Who could it be?
HBO shared multiple new pictures from the upcoming third episode of Game of Thrones season 8 on Thursday. While most of them were stills of characters in conversation or simply sitting in a particular spot, there seems to be one that may have a let on lot more than it was supposed to.
One of the six pictures shows Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner, sitting in a corner. While it is not known if she is in the crypts or at the castle’s ramparts with her sister Arya, we can see her surrounded by wooden structures.
However, what is shocking is that she doesn’t appear to be alone. Upon brightening the picture a little, one seen an eerie face peeking from behind the wooden logs at Sansa. The face seems to be floating in the air, getting creepier the longer you look at it. Check it out:
Not just us, even the show’s fans are shocked at the revelation. Some even have a few ideas about whose face it could be. The most obvious reasoning is that it is Arya’s face that we see in the picture. It becomes more believable when we consider this picture featuring Arya and Sansa, that was also released on Thursday.
Now, getting into more shocking theories, people are quite certain they are seeing Lord Baelish in the picture, still being creepy around Sansa, even in death. “I thought Jon or Arya at first but now I can’t unsee Littlefinger. What if it’s a dead/undead little finger?!,” wrote a fan on Twitter. “It’s undead Littlefinger. Where did they bury him? They didn’t ship his body somewhere, they didn’t dump it in the woods. That picture is in the crypts of Winterfell and that is freaking Littlefinger! I’m calling it now,” wrote another.
Others had still spookier ideas. “Don’t laugh but the first person it reminded me of was Catelyn! lol! Don’t ask why!,” wrote a fan, talking about Catelyn Stark who was murdered by the Freys and the Lannister men in season 3. While Catelyn found no mention on the show, she does still exist in the books after her death. She was resurrected in the book and became the half-dead Lady Stoneheart.
People were already not quite on board with the idea of sending women and children to the crypts of the Winterfell to save them from the army of the dead. It does sound like a bad idea to send innocents to shelter near graves when the Night King is all about raising corpses back from the dead.
Whether the dead rise again--Littlefinger and Catelyn included--we will know when the third episode premieres on Monday in India.
