I can't cry like Shekhar Kapur: Sajid Khan
Director-comedian Sajid Khan promises to be fun on India's Got Talent rather than cry like acclaimed filmmaker Shekhar Kapur whom he has replaced as a judge on the second season of the talent hunt show.tv Updated: Jul 07, 2010 15:47 IST
"I can't cry like Shekhar Kapur. I don't cry so easily. What immensely touches me and moves me is cruelty against children and elder people. That is something I am sensitive about, I don't cry otherwise," Sajid said, while in the capital to promote the show.
Kapur frequently got emotional while watching heart-wrenching performances by the physically challenged or poor contestants in the first season of India's Got Talent.
"I am going to be fun on the show. Actually, my reactions will match the talent I see. I am usually frivolous and fun, but sometimes I can be dead serious in my comments. It completely depends on the acts," he told IANS.
Though Sajid has started auditioning for the show, he confesses that hasn't seen even a single episode of the first season of the show.
"I haven't seen IGT 1. It came at a time when I was in Britain shooting for Housefull. The channel (Colors) asked me to watch it, but I couldn't. I had two-three offers either to judge or host a show at that time, but most were at the end of the year. This seemed doable, so I agreed," he said.
After the success of his multi-starrer laugh riot Housefull, Sajid says he is working on two films, an emotional drama and an action entertainer. He hopes to finish the script of at least one of these projects within the next seven months.
Till then, he is looking forward to some great talent on the show.
"We have not just seen some fantastic singing, dancing and acrobatic acts, but also a very unique style of sand drawings. It’s going to be a mixed platter of talents, that we will be seeing on the show. Auditioning people in small towns has been a great experience for us," said Sajid, who will be sharing the judges' panel with actors Kirron Kher and Sonali Bendre.
