Delhi girl Aanchal Khurana has been declared the winner of popular MTV reality show Roadies. The 21-year-old, who has completed her studies in fashion designing, likes exploring places and traveling. “We begun our journey of MTV Roadies from Bangalore, went through the rough terrains, harsh conditions and unknown territories of India and ended our journey in the tropical country of Brazil. I will go back to Rio once again,” she says.

Back to win

Interestingly, Aanchal had been eliminated from the show and came back as a wild card. “I think I got a wild card entry because my vote out was unfair. I am a firm believer in the power of karma. Because of Suchit (one of the contestants), I was out of the game and because of me, he was out of the finale.”

During one of her auditions for the show, Anchal had said she wanted to get on Roadies because she didn’t want friends and family to underestimate her. “I am a very headstrong girl and have complete confidence in myself. It was just that I wanted to show society that one should stop underestimating girls. They are as mentally and physically tough as boys. I wanted to shatter the perception that a girl can’t make it on MTV Roadies,” she says.

Aanchal is the second female winner in the show’s five-year history. At the end of the show, she was handed over a purse of R 4 lakh. “Winning the show has given me an amazing platform and I have finally realised my dream. I have secured a scholarship at the Kishore Namit Kapoor acting school in Mumbai. I want to establish my career in this profession,” she adds.
