Arjun Rampal is visibly nervous as he asks a theatre full of journalists what they think of his performance as the host during the first episode screening of Love2HateU. “I’m making my TV debut as a host, it’s not easy,” he admits.
The actor, who was recently seen as the villain in the superhero film RA.One, plays the host and mediator-of-sorts between celebrities and members of the public who hate them. So far, about four episodes have been shot, each featuring two celebrities.
But there is one anonymous hater out there that Rampal is eager to get even with. The popular user goes by the twitter handle of Bollywoodga**u on the microblogging site.
“This guy is unbelievable. And now I’ve dared him to come on my show if he has the b***s to. He should come face to face with us. But he’s sh***ing now. It’s easy to mess around as a name online, but if you come forth, your credibility disappears,” says Rampal, adding, “It’s not cool to be negative. And some celebrities are misunderstood.
This is a chance for them to come and change that perception.” Bollywoodg***u’s response on Twitter at the time of going to press was, “Hah! I would take up the challenge, but I think I’ll lose because it’s hard to stay awake when Rampal talks.”
The weekly Star World show that goes on air on November 20 will feature the likes of Chetan Bhagat, Shah Rukh Khan and Madhur Bhandarkar among others, whom Rampal plans to rope in. “Hrithik Roshan is keen, but he’s not well. I would love for Simi Garewal to be on a show like this. Sonam’s traveling; she’s giving me dates in December. People really have an issue with her clothes. But I don’t want it to just be Bollywood. I would love to have a Lalit Modi on the show,” he says.
Ask him if any face-to-face confrontations have turned violent so far and he says with a smile, “I hope they do as it’ll be great for my TRPs,” before revealing, “Farah Khan’s (director, Tees Maar Khan) episode will have some fireworks though.” Having recently finished shooting for Sudhir Mishra’s untitled film opposite Chitrangda Singh, the actor is now looking forward to Bhandarkar’s Heroine with Kareena Kapoor.

“Since @rampalarjun wants to meet @BollywoodG***u and trash talk, we clearly know who the celebrity between the two is.
“This #Love2HateU is essentially a televised version of @BollywoodG***u’s timeline.
