The world has been gripped by the union of Prince Harry, 33, the sixth-in-line to the British throne, and actor Meghan Markle, 36, a divorcee whose mother is African-American and father is white, and hundreds of TV crews have descended on Windsor. The wedding will take place later in the day today.
While a select few from India, bride to-be’s friend Priyanka Chopra included, will be present at the wedding, we have just the thing for the rest of you who want to watch the event live.
Discovery’s channel TLC and Colors Infinity will air live telecast of the grand event. The celebration begins on May 19 at 2:30 pm according to Indian time. If you want to stream the event live, here’s where you can find it: the ceremony will be live streamed on the Royal Family’s official YouTube channel.
The live stream will follow the wedding procession, marriage ceremony at Windsor Castle, and wedding day happenings along the way. Afterwards, the footage will be shown again so that people can enjoy this wonderful event no matter their location or time zone.
The wedding ceremony will take place in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. According to a report in Time, 2,640 members of the public have been invited to watch the arrivals of Harry and Meghan at Windsor Castle while 600 guests will get to attend the actual ceremony at St. George’s Chapel and the subsequent lunchtime reception hosted by the Queen at St. George’s Hall. Around 200 of their closest family and friends will attend a party hosted later that night by Harry’s father, Prince Charles, at Frogmore House.
As the former Suits star gears up to tie the knot with Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson, she also sets to enter an institution where age-old traditions govern virtually all aspects of lives, including the clothes they wear. “Royal dress codes are very traditional, especially when the family member is carrying out royal duties,” said Grant Harrold, a former butler in the House of Windsor.
Meghan is the second American to join the British monarchy after socialite Wallis Simpson, King Edward VIII’s wife.
