She was best known for her role of Komolika in the erstwhile TV show Kasautii Zindagii Kay. And now, actor Urvashi Dholakia is back with yet another negative character to essay.
She will be seen playing Malini Yadav, a Delhi housewife, in the upcoming show Apno Ke Liye Geeta Ka Dharmyudh.
Back and bad
“My character is negative, but completely different from anything I have played before. Those who are looking for similarities aren’t going to find any,” says Dholakia, adding.
“Malini is a Delhi housewife who is an absolute wannabe – a behenji turned mod,” she laughs. “This woman wants to achieve a lot, and is willing to use anyone and anything to get where she wants to! She can even use her own children!”
Simple and subtle
The differences in characters she has played in the past don’t end there. Malini’s look is also vastly different from Komolika. “I will be wearing a lot of sarees, but they are far more subtle,” she says. “Malini is a woman who tries to be very poised. She’s someone I don’t identify with at all.”
Dholakia says that her role is a challenge, but feels her past experience will pull her through it: “I’ve been around for a long time, I don’t need any source to draw inspiration from.” The show will be aired on Zee TV on weekdays, and is keeping the actress on her toes. She rules out plans to undertake any more projects in the near future. “There is absolutely no time to work on anything else,” she justifies.
