Bharti Airtel posts Q1 net loss of Rs 2,866 crore

Bharti Airtel Ltd posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 2,866 crore in Q1. Airtel incurred an exceptional expenditure of Rs 1,400 crore amidst a tariff war with Reliance Jio. This is the first quarterly loss for the company in 14 years. Airtel's consolidated revenue grew 4.7% year-on-year to Rs 20,738 crore in June quarter from 19,799 crore a year ago. Airtel's consolidated net debt was ₹1.16 trillion as of June end.
