Delhi sees huge Covid spike amid Omicron fears; Yellow Alert to continue

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority held a meeting on Wednesday to take stock of the Covid situation. Delhi's Lt Governor Anil Baijal said the government will not impose any fresh pandemic-related restrictions at the moment. LG Baijal stressed the need to break the chain of Covid transmission. CM Arvind Kejriwal, Niti Aayog Member Dr VK Paul, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria were present at the meeting. The meeting took place a day after the Delhi govt imposed a ‘yellow alert’ in the city. All schools, colleges and other educational institutions, cinemas and gyms have been shut.
