FIFA delegation inspects Yekaterinburg Arena in Russia
A joint FIFA and Local Organising Committee (LOC) delegation visited Yekaterinburg Arena, also known as Central Stadium, in Yekaterinburg on Tuesday, as part of the ongoing venue inspection programme ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia. FIFA's Chief Competitions and Events Officer Colin Smith said he was happy with the how preparations are moving forward. “We are very pleased with the state of readiness,” he said. “You can see on the screens behind me, you can see the time-lapse of the stadium being constructed, you can see how far it's come. It's now fully commissioned.” The FIFA World Cup 2018 will take place in Russia between 14th June and 15th July. it will be staged in 12 stadia across 11 cities. (Video courtesy – SNTV)
