Indian Army chief commented on action taken by the force after provocations by Pakistan. General Bipin Rawat said that India retaliated to ceasefire violation and an infiltration bid from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. General Rawat said that 6-10 Pakistani soldiers were killed in action taken by Indian forces. He also said that at least 3 terrorist camps were destroyed. Pakistan had violated the ceasefire on the intervening night of October 19-20. Two Indian soldiers and a civilian had died in the unprovoked firing.
