Election Commission holds all party meeting

Election Commission held a meeting with recognized national and state political parties in New Delhi today. Representatives of parties were present at the meeting. Consultation meetings are held periodically by the Commission with political parties to discuss various important issues. Ahead of the all-party meeting, Congress appealed to EC to hold Lok Sabha polls on ballot paper. Agendas for the meeting also includes measures to improve accuracy, transparency, inclusivity and fidelity of electoral rolls. A discussion to cap expenditure of political parties was also expected
