A woman stoked controversy after brandishing a 'Free Kashmir' poster during a protest over JNU violence in Mumbai's Gateway of India. Mumbai police launched a probe into the 'Free Kashmir' poster. Mehak, a writer by profession, issued a clarification after the poster sparked controversy. In a video release by her she said that the 'narrative put around the situation is absolutely wrong.' She batted for Kashmir saying, “In the last few months, basic rights of J&K people have been taken away.” She added, “I was quietly standing. I had flowers in my hand. It was meant to be offering peace.”
