Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continued his protest in Punjab against the farm laws recently brought in by the Union government. On Day 2 of the 'Kheti Bachao Yatra', Gandhi led a tractor rally from Bhawanigarh to Samana in Patiala. Chief of Congress' Punjab unit, Sunil Jakhar, drove the tractor while Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Gandhi rode with him. He also addressed multiple farmer gatherings along with Singh and other party leaders. At a rally, the CM said that 'when Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister and has a majority in the Lok Sabha', he should scrap the 'black laws'. Gandhi, in his speech, continued his attack on the National Democratic Alliance government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He accused the government of only helping big businesses in the last 6 years, while hurting the interests of farmers, labourers and the poor. Gandhi said that the Modi administration was in a hurry to bring in the farm laws amid the Covid-19 pandemic because it thought that the farmers won't be able to retaliate at such a time.
