Officials of the forest department in India's northern Agra have released 40 alligators of an endangered species into River Chambal, their natural habitat. These alligators, considered to be among the most endangered species, were brought from a breeding farm in Lucknow's Kukrail where they were kept under favourable conditions and under the surveillance of the Forest Rangers and veterinarians for proper breeding conditions.
