The Bharatiya Janata Party lashed out at the central government after state owned oil companies announced yet another increase in petrol prices by Rs. 1.82 per litre, post midnight. Recalling it to be the third hike over the past three months, the BJP said that the government is trying to punish the public for raising its voice against corruption. Echoing similar sentiments, the Communist Party of India (CPI) termed the central government as 'insensitive.'
