Congress and BJP react on SC’s order on Gujarat riot cases

India's ruling Congress Party on Friday termed the Supreme Court's order lifting the stay on trial in Gujarat riot cases as "historic." On the other hand, the BJP termed the judgment as normal procedure of court to promote the justice. The court order, which comes in the middle of India's general election, has embarrassed the BJP and could affect its electoral chances, analysts say.
