Dr Edward Horton, Professor, Harvard Medical School, speaks on the prevalence of diabetes in India, and how India has the largest numbers of diabetics in the world. A major factor for this is a change in lifestyle, he said. Calling diabetes as a complication of the socio economic process, he advocated preventive measures to curb the disease. He also spoke about the progress of genetic studies in reducing diabetes.
