Govt announces aid to tackle Chikungunya

The Central government on Sunday announced a relief package to Kerala to tackle the outbreak of Chikungunya. Fourty people have died of the disease, while over 7000 are admitted to hospitals, mainly in two districts of Athanamthitta and Kottayam. Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss said that each affected village would get between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 as immediate relief.
