Nation pays homage to Indira on her 93rd birth anniversary
India paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 93rd birth anniversary on Friday. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress party Chief Sonia Gandhi, were among the first to pay homage at Shakti Sthal, the memorial to the late prime minister, in national capital New Delhi. Congress party's General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, along with several cabinet colleagues attended a special prayer meeting held on the occasion. People in Allahabad, Gandhi's birthplace, also organised a marathon to remember the leader, in which a large number of children participated.
