Two naval officers, who had gone missing after an accident on board submarine INS Sindhuratna, have been found dead. Seven crew members out of more than 60 aboard the diesel-powered vessel were airlifted to a naval hospital after inhaling smoke, but the two officers - Lieutenant Commander Kapish Muwal and Lieutenant Commander Manoranjan Kumar - could not be found. The two officers who went missing were on duty on board when smoke filled parts of a Russian-built submarine on a training exercise off the Mumbai coast in the early hours of February 26 morning. Brother of Lieutenant Commander Kapish Muwal, Aashish said the incident is due to negligence as everyone knew about the defects in the submarine and it proved to be fatal.
