PM meets Maldivian Prez

Maldivian President Mohamed Waheed Hussain Manik who is on his maiden five-day official visit to India met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, in New Delhi today. The two leaders are said to have discussed the situation in the Maldives including possible early elections to end unrest that followed the controversial ouster of his predecessor Mohamed Nasheed in February. Earlier on Saturday, external affairs minister SM Krishna also met Waheed at the Taj Palace Hotel.
