Rajya Sabha passes anti-rape law

The Rajya Sabha on Thursday passed a much awaited anti-rape law in wake of public outcry, following the Delhi gang rape and its victim's death. It provides stringent punishment for rape and other sexual crimes against women. It has increased the age of sexual consent for girls from 16 years to 18 years.
