Actors and directors of south cinema backed Nikita Thukral, who was banned from the Kannada Film Producers' Association (KFPA) for three years over an alleged affair with a co-actor Tugudeepa Darshan. The Karnataka Film Producers' Association had issued the ban after Thukral's co-star Darshan was arrested on charges of domestic violence against his wife Vijaylakshmi, who accused the pair of having an affair. Speaking to mediapersons in Bangalore, Punith Rajkumar, leading Kannada actor said the KFPA verdict was wrong, as an organisation has no rights to take decision on personnel issues of a person.
