Village girls run a news channel in Bihar (the video is loading, may take long. Please bear with us...)

It's extraordinary but true; a team of five girls from Chand Kewari village in India's eastern Bihar state has begun a news channel and is successfully running it. Mission Eye International, a self-help group, is assisting the girls in running the channel. The Appan Samachar channel run by Class IX students went on air from December 6, 2007 and the girls pitch in for everything including reporting, editing and news reading.
