Remember the video of a 'drunk cop on the Delhi Metro'?. The disheveled cop was seen stumbling and eventually crashing down on the floor in August last year and the video sent shockwaves across social media. It also led to a debate regarding safety of metro commuters. In fact, the 50-year-old cop Salim PK was also suspended from duty. But, it has now been established that he wasn't drunk. His disorientation was due to acute health problems and partial paralysis of his body. He had fallen ill at work on he evening of August 19, 2015 and suffered a blackout in the metro. Salim has also received a clean chit from Supreme Court and has been reinstated in the force on November 5, 2015. As he now receives medical treatment in Kerala, he wants to “regain his lost dignity by publishing the correct factual position in some prominent places, print and electronic media.”
