Iran's skies unsafe? Plane from Turkey to Tehran turns back as US attack fears loom over Mid-East

New explosions in the Iranian cities of Ahvaz and Bandar Abbas, combined with an emergency incident involving a Boeing 737 MAX 8 flying between Istanbul and Tehran, have fueled fresh panic inside Iran at a time of intense U.S.–Iran war fears. Iranian officials say gas leaks caused the blasts and state media have denied rumors that an IRGC navy commander was killed, while both the U.S. and Israel publicly reject any role, but the timing has supercharged speculation given earlier reports that Washington was weighing strikes over the January 31–February 1 weekend.
