Saudi-backed Yemeni forces claimed that 285 Houthi fighters and commanders were killed within 24 hours during Operation Dawn of Yemen on October 21, although the reported death toll has not been independently verified. The force said it conducted 835 targeting operations using warplanes, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers and sniper units. Spokesman Majed Abdullah Al-Nuzaili claimed the operation targeted Houthi movements, reinforcements, weapons and supply routes, and said around 190 vehicles, military equipment and drones were destroyed or disabled. He also claimed that Houthi advances in Taiz were thwarted and that strikes continued across the northern, eastern and western fronts of Marib. Separately, the United States ordered non-emergency diplomats and their families to leave Saudi Arabia amid heightened security concerns.
