Rajya Sabha witnessed a fiery faceoff between Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar and TMC MP Derek O’Brien over a debate on the Manipur issue. The opposition has been demanding a debate on Manipur violence under rule 267. This rule requires suspension of business to debate the subject on hand. The Rajya Sabha chairman lashed out at Derek O’Brien, accusing him of engaging in theatrics. An angry Dhankar also objected to the TMC MP thumping the table while making his demand.
