"Bharat Mata Ki Jai" slogans reverberated in Fiji as Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad Heaps heaped praise on India at the World Hindi Conference. "India is a world leader, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is steering it in the right direction," said Fijian Deputy Prime Minister Biman Prasad. India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, who was in attendance at the conference, recalled the Fijian President's comment on Hindi cinema's influence. He revealed that the Fijian President Wiliame Katonivere's favourite movie is "Sholay" and compared the country's hospitality to the film's "Yeh Dosti" song.
