A Chennai police woman's courage amid heavy rain & waterlogging has been winning hearts. Inspector Rajeshwari carried a visibly-unconscious man on her shoulder to an autorickshaw. The TP Chatram Police Station Inspector ensured that the man was rushed to the hospital. In a video, Rajeshwari could be seen carrying the man & instructing other cops to call an ambulance. A few of the local residents could also be seen accompanying Rajeshwari in helping the man. After getting hold of an autorickshaw, Rajeshwari puts the man in it & sends him to hospital. The man, who appeared lean & weak, was identified later as 28-year-old R Udhayakumar. The incident took place on Thursday when the city was inundated due to heavy showers. Rajeshwari's deed was lauded by several top police officials as well as political leaders. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin facilitated the woman inspector & praised her. Udhayakumar is being treated at the Kilpauk Government Medical College Hospital. Heavy rains lash Chennai & its nearby areas, affecting vehicular movement & causing waterlogging. The IMD predicted that heavy rains over Tamil Nadu, Andhra are likely to decrease from Friday.
