Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of 4890 Amarnath pilgrims from Jammu. The pilgrims were escorted to Pahalgam and Baltal base camps in Kashmir amid tight security and chants of 'Bam Bam Bhole' and 'Jai Barfani Baba Ki'. The yatra is being organised after a gap of two years due to the Covid pandemic and also this is the first yatra since the abrogation of Art 370 in August 2019, when it was cut short.
