Opposition has alleged that the Modi government is trying to polarise voters by implementing the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act just before the Lok Sabha elections. Centre notified the CAA rules more than four years after the controversial law, which led to violent protests across the country, was cleared. Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has dared Mamata Banerjee for a Lok Sabha contest with him from Berhampore from where TMC fielded former cricketer Yusuf Pathan.
