US state body opposes RSS chief's America trip: watch why USCIRF doesn't want Mohan Bhagwat in NYC

The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has opposed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s scheduled visit to the United States later this month. In a statement, USCIRF members urged the US government to focus on sanctions against RSS members allegedly responsible for religious freedom violations instead of extending diplomatic courtesies. USCIRF Chair Asif Mahmood and Commissioner Gene Mills criticised Bhagwat’s planned visit and raised concerns over the treatment of religious minorities in India.
