  • The US has said it is closely following reports of troop disengagement between India and China and continues to monitor the situation. US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said that they welcome the de-escalation by the two countries. ‘We will, of course, continue to monitor the situation closely as both sides work towards a peaceful resolution,’ Price said in response to a question on reports of disengagement of Indian and Chinese troops from Pangong lake area of Ladakh. The thaw between the two countries came after months long standoff which also led to a violent clash at Galwan valley in June 2020.
