Brian Lara applauds Tendulkar

Former West Indies captain Brian Lara praised Indian ace-batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who just needs 77 runs to break Lara's world record of scoring the highest number of runs in Test cricket. The 39-year-old left hander Lara has amassed 11,953 runs in 131 Tests while Tendulkar is on the threshold of overhauling it, with 11,877 runs in 150 matches. Meanwhile, Lara also cautioned Indian Board of the consequences of all the top five players retiring simultaneously.
