U.S. convicts Harvard professor in campaign to curb economic espionage by China

Top Harvard scientist Charles Lieber has been convicted for hiding ties to Chinese programme. Prosecutors said that Professor Lieber hid involvement in China's 'Thousand Talents Plan', aimed at recruiting foreign researchers. The world-renowned scientist has been found guilty of filing false tax returns and failing to report a Chinese bank account. The U.S. Department of Justice campaign has been working to counter economic espionage from China.
