A Chinese national was rescued alive from a tunnel in Nepal on Saturday, September 5, 10 days after a devastating glacier collapse sent ice, rocks and mud through a Himalayan valley, killing more than 1,300 people. The Nepali Army said Lu Haitao was found inside a 225-metre tunnel at the Upper Trishuli-1 Hydropower Project. He had no visible injuries and his vital signs were stable, although he showed signs of mild hypothermia.
