Hong Kong leader’s outreach event, days after Trump said US is watching
Hong Kong’s chief executive, Carrie Lam, held a public outreach programme on Thursday. She reportedly interacted with over 100 people at the event. The community dialogue was aimed at defusing the situation in the territory. Hong Kong has been gripped by fierce protests for over three months. Recently, the President of the United States of America also raised the issue during his address to the United Nations General Assembly. Donald Trump had said that the US is ‘monitoring the situation’.
