NATO nation echoes Putin; Hungary says West's sanctions 'won't work' in Ukraine

NATO nation Hungary unabashedly backs Russia amid a raging war in Ukraine. Hungary echoes Vladimir Putin's statement on the West's sanctions and arms aid. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that western sanctions on the Russian Federation and military support for Kyiv will achieve nothing. He further added that it is deplorable that, when somebody stands for peace, they are looked down upon in the bloc. Hungary claims the EU would try to introduce new sanctions on Russia that would target Moscow’s nuclear industry. However, Budapest stated that they will definitely veto such points if they are included in any kind of sanction measure by the West.
