As fighting escalates in eastern Ukraine, Russian-backed forces and the Ukrainian forces are fighting for a claim over a village in Donetsk and a key highway. The Wagner Group has claimed control over Blahodatne in eastern Donetsk. However, Ukraine's military said it had repelled the Russian attack. Ukraine said that its forces also repelled Russian attacks in the areas of 13 other settlements in the Donetsk region. The Donetsk Oblast, especially the town of Bakhmut, has been witnessing intense fighting in recent weeks.
