Turkey Dubs UN 'Israel Protection Council' After U.S. Vetoes Gaza Ceasefire; 'No Hope From You'

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan came down heavily on the United Nations. Erdogan dubbed the UN the "Israel Protection Council" after the U.S. vetoed the Gaza ceasefire appeal. An angry Erdogan said, We have no hope or expectation from the United Nations. “Is this justice?” asked Erdogan, adding that “the world is bigger than five," which was a reference to the five veto-wielding nations in the UN Security Council. Turkey's charge comes as Iran has warned the UN of an "uncontrolled explosion."
