The United States, which has tried to 'bully' Russia with sanctions over the Ukraine war, is now planning to implement new sanctions on Moscow's close ally China. Washington is 'sounding out allies seeking support over sanctions' on China if Beijing provides military aid to Russia for its war in Ukraine. It is not clear what specific sanctions Washington may impose on China. The pressure tactics come amid a U.S.-China faceoff over reports of arms aid to Russia. On February 8, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that China is considering arming Russia with lethal weapons for its battle in Ukraine. Beijing has slammed 'false' U.S. claims that China may arm Russia. Remember, almost the whole west has been arming Ukraine, but Russia has so far only received military assistance in the form of drones from Iran.
